Packing, Packing, Packing!

It seems as if all ski racers do sometimes is pack and unpack a their bags. We're always on the go and this season is going to be especially busy with trips. I'm headed out west on the 30th and then out east on the 18th and I couldn't be more excited!

A-Basin and Loveland opened a few weeks ago and Vail will open up a few days before I get there! I'm looking forward to a month away from Petoskey and in the mountains. As much as I love my little Northern Michigan hideaway I neeeeed to get out for a while. However, from the photo down below, you can see that leaving doesn't come without it's burdens.

Fall in Northern Michigan is one of the most beautiful times of year. It's also the greatest time of year to be outside training!

I cannot stress the importance of dryland enough. It is the foundation you put yourself on for the entire season. If you're in great shape when the season begins, your skiing will prove that all your hard work has paid off. I personally love being outdoors and try to do most of my training through running, hiking, and biking. Luckily I live in a place as picturesque as this, so training isn't really a burden. I like to think of it as a treat actually.

I'll be on snow in less than a week and I'm positive that my conditioning this fall will prove it's importance in the way I'll be skiing. The snow is coming everybody and soon all those leaves covering the trees will be replaced with blankets of white heaven! Get excited!!!

New Equipment!!

Ski season is just around the corner and I'm so excited to be reunited with the snow! This year is the first year in 14 years of skiing that I'll have all brand new equipment! I'm very happy about this and I just wanted to say thank you to all of the companies that I'll be using equipment from. Below is a picture of my new Lange boots which my coach and I have been working on for hours every time we get the chance to.

I'll also be on Volkl skis this year which is great because I hear they are fast skis. It'll be my first year on Volkls, thanks to Kevin Welborn who made that possible!

This Sunday I am off to Loveland, CO and I can't wait to be in the mountains! I'll be posting pictures the second I can see the mountains so keep checking for updates! As you can probably tell by all the exclamation points I'm very eager for the season to start!!!
